Best Time to Visit

May to October for dry season concentrations along the Chobe River — thousands of elephants and buffalo gather at the water's edge. The green season (November-April) disperses game but brings migratory birds and lush landscapes.

More accessible than the Delta. Kasane town has lodges from $80-300/night. Riverfront lodges $200-800/night. Savuti and Linyanti camps $500-2,000/night. Park fees are $12/adult/day. Chobe day trips from Victoria Falls cost $150-250 including park fees and lunch.

Getting There

Kasane Airport has flights from Maun and Johannesburg. Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) is a 1-hour drive — many visitors combine the two. Self-drive is straightforward to Kasane and the Chobe riverfront. Savuti and Linyanti require 4x4 or fly-in access.
