Best Time to Visit
May to October for dry season. Canoeing is best from May to September when water levels are manageable. Tiger fishing peaks from September to November. Most camps close from December to April during the rains.
Budget Guide
Lower Zambezi is one of Zambia's more expensive areas. Luxury camps $500-2,000/night all-inclusive. Mid-range camps $300-600/night. Canoe safaris, fishing, game drives, and walking are typically included in camp rates. The park is not suitable for self-drive.
Getting There
Charter flights from Lusaka to Jeki Airstrip (1 hour). Road access from Lusaka takes 5-6 hours and requires a 4x4 for the final section. Boat transfers from the airstrip to river camps.
