Tarangire — legendary elephant herds and baobab forests
The Great Migration features two major river crossings: the Grumeti River and the Mara River, both in Tanzania. The Mara River crossing is the most famous, occurring between July and September as herds move from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara in Kenya. These crossings are dangerous events where thousands of wildebeest face powerful currents and predators like Nile crocodiles

Day 3,4 | South Serengeti - Ndutu
Today you have an early start, collecting breakfast and lunch boxes around 6:45 am. Upon arriving at the gate to Ngorongoro Crater you will descend to the crater floor for an in-depth exploration of this distinctive eco-system, enjoying abundant wildlife viewing set against the impressive backdrop of the crater, the heart of the conservation area. You will enjoy your boxed breakfast at one of the picnic sites on the crater floor, as will as you lunch later in the day. These drives provide one of the best opportunities in Africa to view Black Rhino, which tend to spend their time on the crater floor. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles; its magical setting and abundant wildlife never fail to enthrall visitors. Another big draw to this picturesque caldera, is its dense population of predators, which include lion, hyena, jackal, and if lucky, the small cats like the rare caracal and serval as well as the African wild cat which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. You will also visit the hippo pool near the Mandusi Swamp Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner is one of the main features of the crater, the Lerai Forest, as well as other parts of the crater.

Day 4
Serengeti National Park
Days 5,6 | Central Serengeti
Today you enjoy breakfast at the lodge, after which you pack and leave the lodge for your drive to the Central Serengeti with game viewing drive along the way. The next two days will be spent exploring the vast Serengeti and its endless plains. You have the option of breaking the day into two, by doing early morning and late afternoon game viewing, driving through the central Serengeti in the golden light of dawn looking for special wildlife interactions and photographic opportunities. You will depart the Lodge at first light with a boxed breakfast for a morning of wildlife viewing before returning to camp for a hot lunch and rest before heading back out again in the afternoon. As another option, you may choose to enjoy a more leisurely breakfast at the camp, instead of a picnic breakfast, and depart with boxed lunches for a full day of game drives exploring different areas of the central Serengeti.. Areas to be visited are the Retima hippo pool, Maasai and Sametu kopjes and plains as well as Moru and Simba kopjes. The Central Serengeti and Seronera River Valley are home to a great diversity of wildlife due to its unique ecological conditions as a transition zone where two distinctly different habitats, the plain and the woodlands, merge and various species of wildlife from both habitats coexist.

The northern Serengeti is home to a huge number of resident animals including lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, eland, Black Rhino and, occasionally, wild dogs.. This is also a wonderful time of year to witness one of three significant events that happens during the Great Migration – the annual river crossings. Your days will be a combination of looking for good river crossings and other wildlife interactions along the Mara River, Wogakuria kopjes, and the Lamai triangle (A triangular shaped area just north of the Mara River). The northern Serengeti and the entire Mara River area are truly awe-inspiring and will surely be one of the highlights of your safari.
